Maternal and Neonatal Outcomes in Pregnant Patients with Pre-Existing Cardiac Diseases

Objective: To assess the maternal and fetal outcome in pregnant patients with preexisting cardiac conditions to determine prevalence of different diseases among patients.
 Study Design: This was across sectional study.
 Place Duration Study: Tertiary Cardiac Care Center Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Dec 2021 Apr 2022.
 Methodology: study done a tertiary care center Rawalpindi. A total (n=100) pre-existing were included 2022 over period 5 months. Prospective data including patients' demographics their outcomes collected using preformed proformas. Data analyzed by SPSS version-23. Prevalence death, complications neonatal primary study. Descriptive statistics run present categorical frequencies percentages. Chi-square Fisher Exact Test applied find association between variables at 95% CI 5% margin error (α=5%).
 Results: our which conducted 2022. Maternal mortality observed 6% (n=6) patients. pulmonary edema seen 24% (n=24) post-partum hemorrhage 14% (n=14) Three parameters perinatal studied i.e., low birth weight, preterm delivery death. 39% (n=39) neonates found have 22% (n=22) 21% (n=21). The results showed (n=21) mortality.
 Conclusion: Overall while 21%. There existed statistically significant (p<0.05) age complications. With proper counseling, some avoidable deaths can be prevented.
